Having diabetes is difficult. A diabetic has to watch what they eat, test their blood and take either pills or inject insulin. Not only is it a hassle but it can also be expensive. It really helps when a diabetic can find diabetic supplies at a reasonable cost. And the supplies should be affordable because it isn’t as if treating diabetes is a vanity thing, it keeps a person alive!

My father is a diabetic as is one of my favorite rock musicians, Bret Michaels of Poison. I have tested with a glucose level that is still in the normal range but high and getting close to type 2 diabetes. It is scary to consider.

Fortunately there are some places that offer a free Glucose meter with the purchase of most blood glucose strips. That helps with the cost a bit and every little thing helps. If you have diabetes remember to follow the doctor’s orders. Get enough exercise, eat right, test your blood and do your best to live your life.
