Whenever I think of people wearing a gold chain I automatically think of the cheesy male wearing a disco suit with the shirt open to the waist to reveal a massively hairy chest and in the center of that chest is a large gold medallion on a heavy chain. The stupid thing is that when that look was in style, I doubt that the men looked as ridiculous as they are depicted now. They probably looked reasonably attractive. However that look was so popular that now people feel they have to make fun of it. Sad because there is a lot of class in a gold chain.
