New Resolve

  • Mood:

Usually people make resolutions at the beginning of the year. That's when they make changes in their live and hope to be and do better. Me, I like to make changes about this time. You see, my birthday is next week and I am going to be 49 years old. Pretty close to 50 and I have to make changes.

I am sick and tired of being fat. Obese really. When my fiftieth rolls around, I want to be a hot looking woman so I am going to do something about it. I have restarted my TurboJam DVDs - even ordered two more. I will do those and walk for the first few months then add in Jari Love Weight training DVDS to help build the muscle for a more attractive look. And a healthier me.

Diet is about 80% of weight loss, at least that is what I read. I am going primal/paleo. In fact, on June 29, I will be starting a 30 day Paleo challenge. I'm excited about it. I will say so long to wheat (bread) and grains, dairy, alcohol, beans and legumes, potatoes, processed foods, added sugar, certain types of cooking oils. I will welcome into my world protein, vegetables, healthy fats, limited fruit, spices, eggs, nuts and seeds. I will drink mainly water, three litres a day.

To be honest, I have been heading this way for a while now. Presently, my pantry is cleared of offending foods and after next Saturday, I just won't buy any more. Even in small amounts.

For years, I have turned to alcohol and junk food when bored or lonely or upset or really happy. Like many others, I have used food and booze to avoid facing my real problems. That stops.

I am getting busier. I have joined meetup.com and am finding things to do that aren't that expensive. Last night, I became the neweest member of an All Pro Toastmasters group where I will work on my public speaking skills and advance that part of my career. I have a Bellyfit class to go to on Wednesday and, if I like it,I will go to more of them.

The next book in the Julie Seer series has to be written, I have promotion on all five of my current books to do. I am going to keep myself so busy that I won't have the time or inclination to think about the changes I am making. I will just do it.

I will let you know how it goes.
